Three Awards in One Week? Slap Me, I’m Dreaming.


It is always a happy day around the Marketo offices when we receive recognition for our innovation and thought leadership in the marketing automation space.

Early last week, we were pleasantly surprised when CRM luminary Denis Pombriant notified us that Beagle Research had given a Short Tale Award for Best Video Under One Minute to our video “I’ll Have What He’s Having.”.  As Pombriant states, “this video gets three points across in half a minute—40% more revenue, better leads, 264% marketing ROI. This is a powerful expression of the company’s value.”

Introduced at Dreamforce last year, the aim of our short video was to highlight the success that our customers have experienced across four core areas of Revenue Performance Management (RPM): marketing campaign effectiveness, sales effectiveness, revenue scale and efficiency across all stages of revenue generation. Clearly, the straightforward yet powerful message, and the well-produced, eye-catching style of the video, developed internally by our own Director of Creative Services Jeff Cowan, resonated well with Pombriant.

More good news arrived two days later, when the Marketo Community was named the winner in BtoB Magazine’s annual Social Media Marketing Awards for Best B2B Closed Community. We were honored that the editors at BtoB recognized the amazing results spearheaded by our Senior Manager of Customer Communities and Programs Heather Watkins.  Who wouldn’t be after reading these stats? Over one million total page views, 800+ knowledge-base articles published, 1000+ ideas submitted, 2000 questions submitted and more than 60 community-driven ideas incorporated into the roadmap since its launch in late 2010 – a tremendous accomplishment!

And, finally as if we weren’t already tickled pink, on Monday our small business solution Spark by Marketo earned a Silver Stevie Award for new marketing solution at the 6th annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service. In December, Spark also received a 2011 Product of the Year Award from Customer Interaction Solutions magazine, and was the only RPM and marketing automation solution to receive these critical awards.

There are many wins for Marketo on a daily basis internally, like the launch of a new product, the hiring of an incredible new employee, and the deployment of a new campaign. But it’s especially gratifying when our work is acknowledged by industry analysts, publications and thought leaders.
