The Marketo Marketing Nation Summit 2014 is almost here – less than 26 days away (but who’s counting?). Last week, we gave you a Mad Libs-inspired recipe for the best Summit ever. This week, we’ve pulled together our own list of absolutely, positively, do-or-die, can’t miss events at Summit.

1. MARKETO FUN RUN/WALK

Start Summit right with our first ever Summit 5K run (or walk!) along San Francisco’s beautiful Embarcadero. And don’t just do it for yourself – do it for the Soles4Souls charity program, which participants are encouraged to support in lieu of a registration fee. Free snack bags, purple tanks, and plenty of opportunities to mix and mingle will be awarded to everyone who joins in the fun. Register here!  #MKTOfunrun14

When: Monday, April 7th, 6:45am-8:30am
Where:  Run starts at the Ferry Building (Shuttle pick-up at Hilton Union Square, details here)

2. CONTENT MARKETING with ANN HANDLEY

Unless you’ve been writing your content under a rock (maybe you write your content ON rocks?) you know all about the whip smart, razor sharp intellect and insights of the amazing Ann Handley.  This session (“Dear Diary: A Content Marketing Makeover”) will help you revamp your content strategy, whether you’re brand new to content marketing or just looking for a content makeover.

When: Tuesday, April 8th, 8:00am-8:50am
Where: Moscone West, 2002-2004

3. DRIVING FACEBOOK LEADS with MARKETO

Marketo’s Carra Manahan, joined by Dennis Yu and Travis King of BlitzMetrics, will explain how generating new followers becomes generating leads. If you’re ready to start driving leads, qualified opportunities, and sales via Facebook – regardless of the size of your social team – this session has got you covered.

When: Tuesday, April 8th, 3:30pm-4:20pm
Where: Moscone West, 3022

4. MARKETO ANALYTICS 101

Want to know how many new names your campaign generating? Or how many opportunities were influenced by marketing efforts? Can you tell the C-suite exactly how many leads, week over week, you’re generating against your goals? Join Marketo’s Rajiv Kapoor and Suzanne Kushner of Innotas to cover the essential basic reports, and find out all that you can do with Marketo’s native reporting capabilities.

When: Tuesday, April 8th, 3:30pm-4:20pm
Where: Moscone West, 2001-2003

5. BEYOND “THE MARKETING CHICK”

Ever been referred to as “the Marketing chick”? Marketo’s Cheryl Chavez, Michele Aymold of SilkRoad, and Maria Pergolino of Apttus will talk about breaking through the mold of young women in marketing for good. They’ll discuss strategies for defending your data, finding allies in leadership, and maximizing your career growth. Note: this session is not for women only – if you’re interested in creating an equal opportunity workplace, this one is for you.

When: Tuesday, April 8th, 9:00am-9:50am
Where: Moscone West, 2014-2016

6. GET DOWN at THE MARKETO MARKETING NATION GALA

After a packed day of scintillating sessions, inspirational keynotes, and fantastic swag, what could be better (or better-deserved) than a party with the Marketing Nation? The biggest bash of the season will go down at the new home of the Exploratorium science museum, overlooking the San Francisco Bay.

When: Tuesday, April 8th, 7:30pm-11:00pm
Where: The Exploratorium, Pier 15

7. FIND YOUR HUMANITY with DJ WALDOW

Do your emails sound like they’re written by robots? In 2014, addressing emails to “Dear Valued Customer” just isn’t going to fly. Our very own DJ Waldow will help you find the human side of your company’s email marketing – as DJ points out, almost 100% of your emails are read by humans. This session, “On Being Human,” will explain why natural, conversation, and even funny emails will improve your engagement and ROI.

When: Wednesday, April 9th, 11:00am-11:50am
Where: Moscone West, 2014-2016

8. MASTER YOUR NEXT PRESENTATION

If your presentation skills could use a brush-up, attend this session to see the master at work. In “How to Give a Great Presentation,” Marketo’s Glen Lipka will teach you how to tell an HR-approved joke, how to pause for dramatic effect, and how to make a PowerPoint that doesn’t put your audience to sleep.

When: Wednesday, April 9th, 2:00pm-2:50pm
Where: Moscone West, 2008-2008

Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Check out the full list of Summit sessions, and start building out your agenda today. What are you looking forward to at the Marketo Marketing Nation Summit this year?
